Marketing Coordinator

Are you full of great ideas? Do you know what a conversion pixel is and can talk CPMs and CPAs? If so, apply for our Marketing Coordinator position and join one of the most exciting startups in Chicago! Buzz Referrals is a social media company that designs, implements, and powers referral programs for internet retailers and other online companies. We are a portfolio company of Excelerate Labs, Chicago’s premier technology accelerator.

As Marketing Coordinator, you will be responsible for our core marketing efforts – everything from PR to SEM. The ability to create link bait, buzz, and free PR is key. Past online marketing experience, and specifically, familiarity with search engine and/or affiliate marketing is strongly desired. Minimum two years experience in marketing position.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contact various print and online publications for inclusion of Buzz Referrals in relevant articles
  • Use program data to develop interesting Infographics to be published by online media partners
  • Identify the best conferences to attend and formulate the most cost-effective means to generate leads
  • Management of basic SEM
  • Create content for the social streams and company blog
  • Always be pitching traditional and non-traditional ideas to raise awareness
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Past experience in marketing
  • Familiarity with social media developments and their applications for businesses
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Expert at finding info through advanced Google queries

Inside Sales Representative

We want full-time sales rockstars! Come join one of the most exciting startups in Chicago! Buzz Referrals is a social media company that designs, implements, and powers referral programs for internet retailers and other online companies. We are a portfolio company of Excelerate Labs, Chicago’s premier technology accelerator.

As a Sales Executive, you will be responsible for selling our product to small and medium sized businesses. While it would be great if you had a background in social, affiliate, or internet marketing, it’s more important that you are a likeable human being who is fun to be around, genuinely enjoys talking to people, and is not afraid to make sales calls.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Sell referral programs and Buzz Referrals promotions over the phone to businesses
  • Conduct a high volume of daily cold calls, set and execute meetings virtually, and close deals
  • Identify and build your own prospect list of businesses
  • Exceed high volume sales goals while working within team environment
  • Insanely awesome communication skills
  • Become an expert; learn what is working for our clients, gather information, and make recommendations on how we can continue to improve the product
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Past experience in sales
  • Familiarity with social media developments and their applications for businesses
  • Demonstrated leadership experience

Social Media Marketing Intern (full-time)

Buzz Referrals is looking for a smart core group of enthusiastic, eager, and active people who can thrive in the startup environment. Our Marketing Interns need to be fun to be around, creative “out of the box” thinker, and highly proactive with great work ethic. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Surf the web to find the prospects and contacts that our sales people should be calling. If you are good on the phone, you may have the opportunity to be the first point of contact. Log calls and contact in our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system. Be great at follow-up and maintaining your To Do lists. Take part in discussion forums on LinkedIn and other sites to spread the word on behalf of our clients.
